Priority 1 Air Rescue Pilot Instructors and Safety Pilots have years of day and night hoist rescue experience specific to vessels underway, vessels dead in the water, overwater rescue swimmer insertions and extractions, high sea rescues, mountain-vertical cliff rescues, roof top rescues, swift water rescues, NVG Rescue Hoisting and short-haul rescue.

Pilot Instructors and Safety Pilots are previously military rated Instructor Pilots/rescue professionals or current CFI rated and can also provide pilots with the basic fundamentals of SAR planning and rescue training as well as shipboard landing procedures and techniques.

P1AR Instructors also will assist the unit in developing standard operating guidelines and procedures specific to their rescue programs.

Additionally, P1AR instructors have significant post disaster relief operation experience and can provide guidance and incident management support if requested.
