Whatever the circumstances in a maritime environment, the Priority 1 Air Rescue (P1AR) Rescue Swimmer Training Course will give the student the abilities and essential experience to conduct direct cable deployment rescues or swimmer free rescues in various sea states.
Our Rescue Swimmer Training Course is custom designed to take various levels of prequalified students from a basic swimmer ability and provide them the instruction, practice, and conditioning in order to help them achieve the physical capability and skill sets required to be an effective tool to perform helicopter open water/ocean rescue missions.
Priority 1 Air Rescues syllabus covers everything from understanding sea state, currents, weather impact on surf and sea motion, ice, dealing with survivors or sea bound victims and their psychological conditions, escapes and releases, survivor approaches and tows, water extrication, parachute disentanglement, sea survival, and additionally how to employ this knowledge in order to manage each type of common water/ocean rescue mission. The students will then be trained on how all of their skills will complement the helicopter rescue team as a whole and allow them to increase SAR team mission capability and performance in conducting water/ocean rescues.
