Many rescue workers and pilots have trained by means of computer based training (CBT), usually on a CD ROM, or with video and print materials. Priority 1 Air Rescue provides the next generation of training - on-line Virtual Classroom or Web-Based Training (WBT). This Web-Based Training when compared to traditional instructor-led training offers a highly standardized self-paced training course; highly interactive with video, diagrams, reviews and assessment exams; results in increased retention rates; and has reduced costs associated with student or instructor travel for training.

Access to Priority 1 Air Rescue's Web Based Training content is easy and requires no distribution of physical materials. A few more benefits of P1AR's Web-based training include:

• Access is available anytime, anywhere: Students will have access to the P1AR training library whether they are working from the hangar, office or from home. With wireless connections, students can access the training material practically from anywhere.
  

• Student tracking is made easy. Because students complete their training while they are connected to the network, P1AR has implemented student-tracking systems. Unlike with CD-ROMs that require students to print reports or save scores to disk, P1AR's Web-based training enables the data to be automatically tracked on the server-computer. Information such as the date and time the student logged in; the content the student reviewed; whether the student completed the online training; assessment test scores for the training modules; number of training slides reviewed; and the amount of time spent on each training module. This information is instantaneously documented and can be emailed, printed or exported for further review or for placement in the individual's training file.

Priority 1 Air Rescue Web-Based Training currently has training modules, slides, videos and assessment exams that cover general aspects of Part 133 Class D HEC Rescue. These training modules can be reviewed at the student's leisure prior to a training course or the modules can be used as annual recurrency training.
